Unexpected Twist At UFC Sao Paulo: Rodolfo Vieira Left Without Opponent
In an unexpected twist, the UFC Sao Paulo fight card underwent a major shake-up. Rodolfo Vieira was scheduled to face Armen Petrosyan. However, destiny intervened when Petrosyan fell ill during the live broadcast of the event, resulting in a last-minute withdrawal.
However, this wasn’t the only issue created for the event. Two additional matches were canceled due to weight-cutting problems, with Victor Hugo and Ismael Bonfim failing to meet their targets. This resulted in fewer main cards of only five bouts.
Brian Butler-Au, Petrosyan’s representative, took to Twitter to share the unfortunate news, stating:
“Unfortunately, our client Armen Petrosyan caught a virus or something backstage and has to pull out of his fight tonight in UFC São Paulo.
UFC said they will look to get him back in right away as soon as he is cleared.”
Rodolfo Vieira’s career has been a series of losses and victories. He was hoping to secure a victory against Cody Brundage. The sudden departure of his opponent not only interrupted his progress but also left the combatant and spectators disappointed.
