After UFC 298 took place in Anaheim, California, on Saturday, Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook and CEO of Meta, was the talk of the press conference. The main highlight of the evening was Ilia Topuria’s victory over Alexander Volkanovski by knockout to win the featherweight title.
The president of the UFC, Dana White, took questions regarding Zuckerberg’s desire to compete in mixed martial arts. Although Zuckerberg’s precise ambitions were unknown to White, he acknowledged the internet mogul’s intense passion for the game.
“I’m not sure about his plans to fight in MMA, but it’s clear Zuckerberg is keen to step into the ring. He’s not just a casual fan; he’s truly passionate about it. He regularly trains with professional fighters. It’s common knowledge here – or at least for most – that once you dive into this sport, it captivates you entirely. Watching someone like Zuckerberg, with his love for MMA, is both exciting and remarkable,” Dana White commented.
Recently awarded a blue belt in Jiu Jitsu, Zuckerberg is well-known for his commitment to the art. He is training three or four times weekly in MMA and Jiu Jitsu. He also put an octagon in the backyard of his property. Zuckerberg has demonstrated his serious dedication to the martial arts by being photographed practicing alongside Israel Adesanya and Alexander Volkanovski, two former UFC champions.
